Hello and welcome! My name is Shannon and I am the owner of We Are Beauty Mode. I am 28 years old and have worked in the beauty Industry for over 10 years.

TRAINING

I spent 3 years at Lewes college in which I completed level 2 hairdressing, level 2 beauty, level 3 beauty, and NVQ theatrical make up. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and knew after completing my first year of beauty that this was going to be my career. Come level 3 I started to take my studying very seriously and made some great achievements. I won 2 awards; ‘student of the year’ and ‘most improved’. I also got selected to compete in the regionals beauty competition representing Lewes college and won 1st place! I then got shortlisted in to the top 8 beauty therapists in the uk to compete in a nationals competition, I just missed 3rd place and got highly commendable which I am still very proud of.

EXPERIENCE

After college I went to work in a local salon in Haywards Heath. I built up a lot of experience here and gained my confidence when working with clients. I also completed a training course with Elemis and developed my skills further. After a few years I went to work at a larger salon and completed many further training courses with big brands such as Lycon wax, crystal clear, dermaquest, decleor, dermalux and henna brows which helped me to gain further in depth knowledge in the beauty industry and explore different treatments. It was a fun and fast paced environment and gave me many opportunities whilst increasing my experience working a fully booked column almost every day.

 

HOW WE ARE BEAUTY MODE BEGAN

Almost five years ago, I took a leap of faith and opened We Are Beauty Mode from my sister’s salon, Lipstick & Barrel in Burgess Hill. I wanted to create a calm, welcoming space where clients could enjoy true 1-to-1 treatments and leave feeling confident and looked after.

Since opening in 2021, the business has grown so much. I’ve built an amazing, loyal client base and I’m incredibly proud of what I’ve achieved.

In November this year, after working at full capacity, I expanded from one treatment room into two gorgeous treatment spaces to allow the business to grow. Daisy joined us in January 2026 and has been such a lovely addition, it feels like such an exciting new chapter.

I’m always investing in further training and developing my skills, with semi-permanent makeup now being my main focus and passion.

I’m driven, detail-focused and a perfectionist in the best way and I’ll always make sure every client feels comfortable, cared for and more confident when they leave.

WHAT DO I SPECIALISE IN?

Although I offer a range of beauty treatments, I now specialise in semi-permanent makeup, this is where my heart is and where I’m putting all of my energy.

I’m constantly learning, practising and investing in new training so I can keep developing my skills and perfecting what I offer. I absolutely love the detail, the precision and the artistry involved in semi-permanent makeup. Whether it’s lip blush, microblading, combination brows or ombré brows, I take so much care in designing each treatment to suit your individual features and enhance your features.

I’ve always had a good eye for what will suit someone, how brows should sit, how shape and colour can completely lift a face, and semi-permanent makeup allows me to bring that to life in the most confidence-boosting way.

While I still offer waxing (including intimate waxing, which I’ve specialised in for years), semi-permanent makeup is now my main focus and the area I am growing, evolving and becoming known for.

This is where my passion is, and I’m so excited for what’s to come.
